SDSW Shoot

On Monday, I was asked to shoot some bridal fashion for San Diego Style Weddings magazine. Arrived at the Hyatt Aventine bright and early on Monday morning to do some location scouting. After hair and makeup, we started shooting. We shot three different dresses in about 90 minutes, which is really quick.

Kudos to hair stylist Shelisa Burke of A Beautiful Bride, to makeup artist Gale Alexander of Make-Up Artistry by Gale, and to Cher from Chez Bride Moderne for the beautiful wedding gowns. Also special thanks to our lovely model, Ashleigh Erwin, who made my job extremely easy.

Some of my faves from the shoot:

Babette and Malik

Last Saturday, I spent an absolutely beautiful afternoon with Babette and Malik, roaming the streets and beaches of the village in Carlsbad. Babette and Malik are getting married in early September in Temecula, but wanted to get some cool engagement photos in Carlsbad, which will be a nice contrast from their upcoming winery wedding images.

Malik and Babette were absolutely great in front of the camera! Special thanks to Michelle at Le Passage French Bistro for the wine!

Marazoni Girls!

Had a great shoot the other afternoon with Kaitlyn and Madelyn Marazoni. We spent the afternoon at their neighborhood park in La Costa (The Ponderosa, baby!) and I basically just chased them around paparazzi-style. They did manage to stay still some of the time, long enough for some really cool close-ups, but I really wanted them to have a good time and play around. So that's what we did ;)

Michelle and Jeremy

Michelle and Jeremy were married last weekend at Mary Star of the Sea church in La Jolla, with the reception held at the Sheraton in Mission Valley. Besides being very photogenic, Michelle and Jeremy were really great in front of the camera. They do a good job of tuning me out, which normally would upset me, but for the purposes of the shoot I encourage it ;)

Also got the chance to work with "The Steves"! (Videographer Steve Morioka from Video Creations Productions, and DJ Steve Wemmer from Golden Sounds Entertainment).

Between the ceremony and the reception, we had almost 3 hours to shoot the groups and portraits. But after that, Michelle and Jeremy were going to hang in their room at the hotel for a little quiet time. It was a great opportunity for me to photograph them away from the chaos of the wedding. They shared some cookies and champagne, ate some appetizers, and just hung out. I was so stoked (and honored) to be there.
