Farewell to Olyo's Pizza
After 20 years in business, Dave and Sue Olson closed Olyo's Pizza on October 20, 2006. An Encinitas landmark is gone.
My buddies and I spent many nights eating, drinking, and telling stories on their famed wooden benches. We did a lot of growing up at that restaurant, and it kind of feels like a piece of us is gone.
But not before one last pizza & beer bash! Good times had by all. As the old saying goes, "The more things change, the more they stay the same."

Wedding of Sarah and Greg
Sarah and Greg were married at the beautiful Las Brisas Del Valle resort in Ensenada, BC. The resort is in a winery-rich valley nestled in the hills east of Ensenda. Sarah and Greg were so much fun to shoot. Here are a few of my faves.
Pensive moment for Greg, in between styling help from Sarah. Loved the look on his face, his reflection in the mirror, and the color of the room.
Loved the look of Sarah in this image with the highlight on the right.
Small note written on one of the groomsmen's suit bags. Classic.
Sarah's mother watching anxiously as Sarah adjusts her veil.
Gotta love the mariachis.
Sarah waiting with her brothers to begin the ceremony.
Ceremony overview. Pretty tough to beat the location.
Great moment between Sarah and Greg.
I loved the rusticness and "old west" feel of the resort. Felt kinda like the setting in all those Clint Eastwood "spaghetti Western" flicks (without the bad dubbing).
Sarah and Greg Gerardi.
Everywhere you turn, there's a great photo opportunity. Shot from the stairwell with Sarah and Greg reflected in the mirror.
Love the feel of this image. Sarah and Greg heading to their cocktail hour down at the pool.

Mucho tequila flowing.

Punta Morro Resort
Made it. As usual, smooth sailing once I made it through Tijuana. What a pit. Nice day for a drive down the 1--crystal clear and not a lot of people on the road. Can't even believe there's a wireless connection in this room.
The turn for Punta Morro is at K 106, which is the only KM marker that I saw that wasn't the standard metal. It was chicken-scratch on a piece of wood. Needless to say, I missed the turn. So I turned around, but there's no over/underpass from the north-bound side of the road, so I had do drive a few clicks north and turn around again. Once I made the turn, I took the wrong side on the fork and ended up in some school. After I registered and got my room key, the key wouldn't work. Ahh, only in Mexico. But I'm psyched for the wedding tomorrow. Should be absolutely beautiful.
Took some shots of the room, which is pretty nice, I must say. Ocean view and a clear look at the Islas Todos Santos.
Sweet view. Cool and windy today so no pool scenery.
Mug shot.
The bed. "La cama" in Espanol (I think).
