Happy Thanksgiving!

Well, it's a little belated, but nonetheless my best wishes go out to everyone. We got together with my in-laws, John and Karen Morse, and were joined by my parents, Dalton and Judy Schnack. And of course, the star of the show was Emme. She had a nice long nap that afternoon so she was very well behaved for dinner;)

Gorgeous table setting courtesy of Karen Morse.

Wedding of Yvette and Mark

Yvette and Mark were married on November 18, with the ceremony held at the Old Town Chapel in Temecula, followed by the reception at the Falkner Winery. Yvette was an absolutely stunning bride (as is obvious in these photos).

dvArtistry in action!

My buddy Dan Boswell owns dvArtistry, the most creative and cutting-edge wedding videography company I've ever seen. I don't even think you can call it "videography", it's really more like cinematography. Dan combines a photographer's sense of lighting and angles with a cinematographer's sense of motion. His movies are amazing.

Anyway, this was shot on November 18 at the South Coast Winery in Temecula, for the Kelder/Bilello wedding (images coming soon). I love the orange halo around his head from the tungsten lamp behind him, combined with the stream of sunlight hitting his face. My wife thinks it looks like some sort of Caravaggio painting.

If you want to check out more of Dan's work, you can visit his Web site at www.dvartistry.com.

Pepe and Jordy's Engagement

I had the pleasure of photographing Pepe and Jordy's engagement photos last Saturday. We spent the afternoon in La Jolla, cruising the streets and alleyways, then headed down to the beach near Cuvier Park.

Pepe and I hit it off the first time we met, as Pepe and I share a passion for photojournalism.

The weather was perfect, and as such there must have been 4 or 5 different portrait sessions going on while we were there. I noticed that all of them remained completely stationary, posing the couple or family in the same place for the entire shoot. Why? It was a gorgeous day at a gorgeous place, why limit it?

We walked the length of the beach and shot until sunset. I think we were all exhausted by the end ;)
